The iPad is a creation so amazing that few other tablets can compare. The vast number of apps on iTunes truly blows away the competition. That said, do you truly know what you can do with the iPad? If not, keep reading and well guide you through tips to become a better iPad owner.

When you use the iPad to stream a lot of media content, such as watching movies or listening to music, you will notice that the battery does not last as long. If you alter the screen brightness, your battery can last longer. You might not ever need to use it as bright as it can be.

Never leave your iPad in a hot car or any similar environment. The intense heat saps devices of battery power. Exposing it to extreme heat and light can affect the batterys ability to hold a charge for long periods. This type of damage is not covered in your warranty, making this a pricey mistake.

You can extend the life of your iPads battery by using the device in Airplane Mode. In Airplane Mode, WiFi and wireless radio are disabled. This is ideal if you do not require an Internet connection to use your iPad. You will still be able to use your tablet to read e-books, play games and use certain apps without draining the battery.

One of the great things about the iPad is that it allows you to quickly check your email. If you receive a large volume of emails throughout the day, it may actually be draining your battery. The device is configured to check for new messages frequently and automatically. Instead of setting it to notify you of new messages every few minutes, go into the Mail, Contacts and Calendars settings to adjust the frequency of mail checks.

You can access your Google Calendar in the Calendar app on the iPad by choosing, "Mail," "Contacts," and "Calendars" under the Settings menu. Go to Add An Account and tap Other. Then click "Add CalDAV" and use your Google log-in. After youve done this, leave the settings, then tap the calendar app. You should see what you need.

Taking screenshots on an iPad is a cinch. To pull this off, just hold down both the "Home" and "Sleep" button simultaneously. Then you will have a screenshot you can organize with your other photos.

Create folders to better organize your iPad screens. Just get your screen to jiggle mode and then place the icons on each other if you would like them in the same folder and repeat until you have everything where you want it. This feature is great when you have twenty or more icons.

Did you know that you can create folders on your iPad? Just tap any app and hold it until it starts to begin jiggling. When it does, drag the app over top of any other icon and let it go. The iPad will then make a folder for you with both of the apps involved inside.

When checking out any new applications, dont overlook free options. Many times they are just as good as the paid version, although they may include advertisements. This is also a great way to have a type of trial before purchasing the full version that doesnt have any obtrusive ads on it.

While you may have thought that iPad ownership is no more than just downloading apps and using them, you should now know its more than that. What youve read here will get you started down the road to iPad mastery. The more you know, the better youll find the iPad works out for you.
